Tour description

The starting point for this hike is Røte Parking (Dronningstien Parking) where you meet up with your guide for the day. Here you will be provided with information about the hike.
Together with your guide you follow the dirt road from Røte up to Heng at 750 meters above sea level. From here the trail is marked with blue Ds (“Queen” in Norwegian is “Dronning”). The hike is long and demanding with a steep descent towards Lofthus. You will walk through forests, high mountains and lush orchards. The guides will use their local knowledge to ensure you get the most of the beautiful scenery around the trail and a good portion of exciting history and stories from the area.
The route down to Lofthus, including the historical “Monk steps” and hike down along the fruitfarms in Lofthus provides a nice ending of an spectacular tour.
It is important that you meet at the starting point of the hike at you booked time. You can get to Røte Parking by car, taxi or book a shuttlebus from Lofthus to Røte HERE.
