Northern Lights chase in Tromsø

You guide will meet you at Scandic ishavshotel in the city centre.

Before the trip, your guide have researched the day's weather patterns to maximize the chances of clear skies and to pinpoint the prime locations for observing the northern lights. You will also be shown a film about the northern lights, both science and myths, to be prepared for the experience ahead.

If the weather is good, we will drive to our homplace on the coast. Here you´ll get the opportunity to see and experience a farm that holds memories from the coastal history where people where surviving on fishing and farming.

While we await the appearance of the northern lights, your guide will tell you tales of the farm´s rich history that has both Sami, Kven and not least real "city boy traces" back to when Tromsø became a city in 1794.

If we have to relocate to different spots, be assured that we'll make the transition as pleasant as possible. We'll set up cozy seating around a crackling fire and provide a selection of hot beverages including coffee, tea, chocolate, and the world's best chocolate cake!

During the evening your guide will take professional photos of you under the dancing lights. These will be available to download from a Flickr account provided to you. You will also get help with settings on your camera or phone to be able to take your own photos.

We’ll drive wherever we need to in the pursuit of clear skies. Sometimes this takes us all the way to Finland, so remember to dress warm.
