1. Small fjord village - big fjord adventures
It may be small, but there is plenty to do in Flåm. We highly recommend an excursion to the Stegastein viewpoint where you have panoramic views of the Aurlandsfjord, one of the most beautiful fjords in Norway.
Join a fast-paced RIB tour of the UNESCO-listed Nærøyfjord and sample locally made cheeses in the nearby village of Undredal.
You won't get any closer to the untouched nature of the fjord than when you paddle on the past high mountains and deep valleys on a guided kayak tour.
Up for a spectacular experience? Flying down Flåmsdalen, the Flåm valley, on the longest Zipline in northern Europe is a serious adrenaline kick amid one of the best nature attractions you can experience in Flåm.

2. The Flåm Railway and Flåm Zipline
If you visit Flåm, you should definitely take a ride on the Flåm Raiway. The scenic ride has often been named one of the world's most beautiful train journeys, including by Lonely Planet.
Take the Flåm Railway in kombination with the Flåm Zipline you will have a thrilling adventure! Throw yourself off the deck and fly through the beautiful valley at speeds reaching 100 km/h! During the zipline tour, you get a feeling of flying through the wild and beautiful nature.
After some relaxation, you pick up your bike and head down to Flåm on a bike ride through the scenic Flam valley.

3. Explore Stegastein
Travel green and experience the stunning Stegastein viewpoint on this guided sightseeing tour from Flåm with an electric bus, and explore the Aurlandsfjord from above!
The Stegastein viewpoint is a 30 meter long and 4-meter wide construction made of steel and laminated pine.
On the way up the steep mountainside towards Stegastein, you will have a scenic view over the beautiful Aurlandsfjord and the surrounding mountains. On the platform 650 meters above sea level, you will have panoramic views of the Aurlandsfjord, Aurlandsvangen and the mountains.
After a stop on the top of around 25 minutes, the trip returns back to Flåm.
How to get to Flåm
The fjord village of Flåm is nestled innermost in the Aurlandsfjord, an arm of the 204-km Sognefjord in Western Norway. Get there on several of our Nutshell tours. Our Norway in a nutshell tour starts in Bergen or Oslo, but you can also get to Flåm from Voss or Geilo.

Gudvangen and Undredal, two other villages that are definitely worth a visit are near Flåm. Undredal is home to Scandinavia's smallest stave church and unique local cheeses.
