Tour description
This trip starts from Flåm in a minibus along the Aurlandsfjord. On your way to the starting point of the hike, you will pass the fantastic viewpoint Stegastein, 650 meters above sea level. Your guide will instruct you on how to walk comfortably with snowshoes, and you will hear about the history behind the snowshoes.
During the snowshoe hike, your guide will also share information about the dramatic nature, the winter by the fjord, and the distinctive culture in the area. You will pass viewpoints along the way where you can see the fjord towards the beautiful village Undredal, inwards to Flåm and all the high mountain peaks surrounding the deep fjord below you.
At the turning point of the hike, you will be served hot drinks, and you will have the opportunity to feel the unique tranquility of nature. The hike on snowshoes takes about 1-1.5 hours.
Before you return to Flåm, there will be a stop at the famous Stegastein viewpoint where there will be time to take pictures and enjoy the magnificent view of the fjord landscape. The trip requires no experience, but a moderate condition is recommended as parts of the terrain can be a bit steep.
Please Note: Changing weather conditions and unexpected warm periods may lead to reduced snowfall or bare ground in some areas, potentially converting our planned snow excursion into a hiking experience.
