The tour
Transport/transfer
Norway in a nutshell® is a self-guided tour and you travel on your own by following your confirmed travel itinerary and bringing your electronic tour ticket. The connections are all within close proximity to each other for easy transfer. Even though you travel on your own, there will always be other travelers on the same tour as you. If you want to socialize and maybe share some stories, it will be no problem getting in touch with other people during the tour.
Food
There are no meals included on the Norway in a nutshell® tour, but not to worry, there are many options for you to get a "bite" during the tour. Onboard the Bergen railway (regional trains) and on the fjord cruise between Flåm and Gudvangen, there is a cafeteria section where you can buy small dishes of hot/cold food, snacks, and drinks. In Flåm you will find quality restaurants in the local hotels and if you prefer a lighter meal there is also a bakery and a "snack bar" available.
Take your time
The Norway in a nutshell® trip is available all year and can be completed in a day. However, as you have probably figured out by now, we highly recommend taking your time and doing the tour over several days to get the most out of your travel in Norway. No matter how you want to experience the tour; in one day or over several days, the magic fjords and stunning scenery here will always offer a truly memorable experience!
Experience more with Norway in a Nutshell®
Our most popular tour shows you the very best of Norway. See the stunning UNESCO-listed fjords. Ride the Bergen Railway and the Flåm Railway, two of the world's most scenic railway lines. The tour includes a visit to several traditional villages, where it's well worth spending an extra night. You can take the tour in a single day, but we recommend taking longer to experience even more.
