Flying Solo? Why Norway is a Top Destination for Female Travel

Traveling alone is not just about showing the outside world that you are an independent and strong woman. It's about so much more! Those traveling alone come back with a sparkle in their eyes, courage in their chest, and a sharper, more focused mindset.
Norway
Solo-tours are often about "finding oneself", and what better road to self-realization than one amidst incredible mountains, fjords, and waterfalls that stimulate the senses in Norway.
Female travel - Norway
There are some things travelers should keep in mind when planning a trip. First and foremost, you should choose a place that is safe to travel to. Consider crime, climate, and creatures. If you plan a city trip you want to know that it is safe for single travelers whilst trips into the wilderness must consider both dangerous animals and dangerous weather conditions. Norway is a safe choice on all fronts.
Norway is one of the safest countries to travel and live in the world with serious crime and murder rates extremely low. There are few dangerous animal species in Norway, although there are both wolves and bears. These are very rare to see, and they are probably more scared of us humans than we are of them. The climate in Norway is somewhat predictable with the seasons pretty well defined, but of course, as the old saying goes “there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing".

The Huffington Post believes that Norway is one of the world's best countries to live in (and therefore also holiday in), partly because Norway has something called the "General Court" or right to roam which means that you can tent, walk and pick berries in anywhere other than marked farmland. Norway also offers fjords and fabulous vantage points such as Trolltunga in Hardanger and Kjerag in Lysefjorden. And even urban areas like the capital Oslo are green and lush.
Female travel - Oslo, Norway
Oslo is a natural choice if you are looking for the urban hipster culture with food halls, Sofar concerts, floating sauna rafts, and electric scooter tours along Aker Brygge. For the photo-happy, a trip to beautiful Bergen is recommended, with perhaps the world's most photographed pier, cultural experiences, and delicious seafood restaurants. If you are of the "younger guard" and are looking for a party and fun, the student town of Trondheim is a good choice. Trondheim also houses Norway's most famous church, Nidaros Cathedral. If you are looking to experience the Arctic climate in Norway and maybe meet a romance under the Northern Lights, Tromsø is your best choice.
No matter which city you want to go to, nature experiences are never far away. Fjord Tours offers a number of great trips to places you have not even dreamt of yet! Here we have gathered a bunch of activities for the adventurous solo’er.
